Rating: 5
I purchased the OnePlus 11.
Gaming smartphone-like performance at a low price
The OnePlus 11 is a smartphone powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.
Despite its budget price, it is powerful enough to play the highest quality Genshin at 120 FPS pasted with frame interpolation, rather than 60 FPS, and has powerful speakers and vibes.
12GB LPDDR5X memory + 256GB UFS 4.0 storage is standard, with a maximum of 16GB + 512GB.
Even though there are some price points, such as the cost savings with USB 2.0, the “flagship killer” is finally back.
This review is done with PHB110_11.A.07, 12GB + 256GB version.

Since the OnePlus 11, it’s completely manufactured as a product of OPPO (OPPO Guangdong Mobile Communications Co., Ltd.).
Accessories include a soft-type protective case, USB Type-C cable, charger, instruction manual, and stickers.
There is also a protective sticker for when attaching the hydrogel protective film.
The protective film is attached from the beginning.
The included charger uses a USB Type-A cable and unfortunately can only deliver 11V / 7.3A → 80.3W in 100V regions.
A dual-port 100W charger (AliExpress) can provide 100W charging in 100V regions.
Beautiful 2K display despite being a generation old
The OnePlus 11 uses the same E4 material AMOLED as the OnePlus 10 Pro.
Although not the latest generation due to cost cutting, it has been upgraded to LTPO 3.0 with QHD+ resolution for a smooth and clean display.
With the Pixelworks X7 chip, games can be frame interpolated, but unfortunately, YouTube and other videos were not supported.
The resolution is FHD+ by default and can be changed to auto select or QHD+ in the settings.
It’s diamond pixel array.
When measuring brightness with the LX-1336B during HDR video playback with automatic brightness adjustment on, the maximum brightness reached 468 nits.
For some reason I could not enable the high brightness mode.
I think this is a bug as of PHB110_11.A.07, but be careful if you are planning to watch HDR videos.
The total touch latency measured by the WALT Latency Timer was 45 ms.
Widevine L1 allows streaming in HD quality on Amazon Prime Video (beta) and others.
In-screen fingerprint sensor moved closer to the center
The OnePlus 11’s in-screen fingerprint sensor has been moved closer to the center of the screen.
This is a small change, but it is a good one, because in past models it was placed closer to the bottom of the screen and was difficult to touch.
Authentication speed is fast.
Vibration with a sense of gravity
It is equipped with a 600mm³+ bionic vibration motor made by AAC Technologies.
This is one of the largest vibrations of any Android phone, making feedback and other feedback during games more powerful.
Comparing the vibration to the OPPO Find X3, the OnePlus 11’s vibration is lower and more resonant, and it is stronger than the OPPO Find X3’s vibration, which seems lighter.
Black makes fingerprints on the back less noticeable
With black, the back has a smooth matte finish, so fingerprints are less likely to show up.
With green, it is said to be shiny, so if you are concerned about fingerprint smudges, it is better to buy black.
It weighs 206.4g.
Surprisingly beautiful telemacrophotography with 2x telephoto
The OnePlus 11 has a triple camera configuration of 50MP (OIS / Sony IMX890) + 48MP (ultra wide angle Sony IMX581) + 32MP (2x telephoto Sony IMX709), each of which can fulfill their respective roles rather than 8MP or 2MP cameras that are useless.
When the camera part reflects light, a design like the night sky appears.
When held horizontally, the protrusion of the camera sometimes gets in the way a little.
All photos were taken hand-held and in auto mode and are saved here.
The 2x zoom is quite good and shows even the smallest details clearly.
However, the 50MP Sony IMX890 and 32MP Sony IMX709 can change colors significantly and may not be suitable for 2x zoom shooting in some scenes.
In night view mode, stars are also visible, but they are a bit blurred.
VoLTE supported
OnePlus 11’s supported bands are:
- GSM: 850/900/1800/1900MHz
- CDMA: BC0
- WCDMA: 1/2/4/5/8
- LTE FDD: Bands 1/2/3/4/5/7/8/12/17/18/19/20/26/28A/66
- LTE TDD: 34/38/39/40/41
- 5G NR: n1/n3/n5/n7/n8/n20/n28A/n38/n40/n41/n66/n77/n78
5G and VoLTE are also supported.
Stereo speakers with strong bass
The OnePlus 11 is equipped with stereo speakers of a type that doubles as those for calls.
Bass is thumping and powerful, and treble is clear.
The left and right sides of the sound are well balanced, and while they are dual-use, there is not much difference in size.
The audio output delay was 32.9 ms when measured with the WALT Latency Timer.
Dolby Atmos compatible and cannot be turned off by the speakers.
Alert Slider Returns to OnePlus
There have been a number of models where the alert slider has been removed since OnePlus was integrated into OPPO, but now the alert slider is back on the OnePlus 11.
Just by moving the slider, you can change to silent mode or silent mode.
Volume keys are located on the left side.
High performance and low heat generation
The OnePlus 11 is powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, combined with a vapor chamber heat dissipation mechanism and algorithm improvements to maintain low heat and power consumption while delivering high performance.
In Geekbench 5, the Genshin disguised version had 1175 single-core and 4918 multi-core, while the normal version had 1154 single-core and 4937 multi-core.
There is no significant change, and it appears that performance is not controlled by package name determination.
The AI performance measured in Geekbench ML with TensorFlow Lite and NNAPI was a score of 369.
This is awfully low, but I don’t know why…
The 3DMark Wild Life Stress Test in 3DMark with a disguised package name (=unaffected by the manufacturer’s improper boosting) had a score of 12852 to 8271.
The Wild Life Extreme Stress Test in 3DMark with disguised package name showed a score of 3624 to 2763, with a temperature rise from 21°C to 39°C (an increase of 18°C) and battery consumption of 15%.
Performance becomes limited from about 30°C due to heat generation, but it is still about the same as the maximum performance of the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1.
PCMark Work 3.0 (package name disguised), which measures performance in everyday use such as document manipulation, scored 10398.
With UFS 4.0 storage and LPDDR5X memory, sequential reads and writes are quite fast.
Random reads are sometimes slightly slower, which may be a slight disadvantage for games with detailed file reading.
Supports frame interpolation to play Genshin at 120 FPS
OnePlus 11 is powered by the Pixelworks X7 chip and offers features such as frame interpolation with ultra-low latency MotionEngine technology and AI Always-On HDR that adjusts to a vivid display.
Frame interpolation and other features were previously only available on the Chinese version of the game, but now they are available on the global version of Genshin.
After setting 60FPS, you can turn on frame interpolation by selecting “游戏插帧” in the game menu, which will change 60FPS to 120FPS.
If the menu does not appear, please update the Game Center app in the App Market.
Let’s start with the results at the highest image quality and 60FPS setting.
When set to gaming mode and measured with WeTest PerfDog, the power consumption was 87.93 mW per FPS at an average of 58.5 FPS.
The battery temperature rose to a maximum of about 38°C, and the side frames did not get very hot.
Next is the result of frame interpolation.
The frame interpolation is done by processing 60FPS with Pixelworks X7 to 120FPS, so the maximum frame rate is recognized as 60FPS outside of the game menu.
The average frame rate was 59.6 x 2 = 119.2 FPS, and even though it was able to interpolate to a higher frame rate, the power consumption was almost the same as at 60 FPS.
Battery temperature is also kept low with a rise to about 36°C.
In World of Tanks Blitz, the average frame rate was 117.8 FPS when played at 120 FPS and all graphics settings at their highest values, with a power consumption of 41.32 mW per FPS.
It seems that the system is tuned to reduce heat generation while maintaining the maximum frame rate, rather than placing the highest priority on the frame rate.
Conclusion
- Capable of frame interpolation of Genshin to 120 FPS
- Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for high performance and power saving
- 5,000mAh battery with 100W charging support
- Powerful vibe
- Stereo speakers with strong bass
- USB 2.0 port
- High brightness mode does not work
The OnePlus 11 is quite inexpensive while powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, and unlike its competitors such as the Redmi K60 Pro, it is also packed with high-end features such as the LTPO 3.0 display, Genshin 120FPS frame interpolation play on the Pixelworks X7 chip, powerful vibes, and more. It is packed with features that make it a flagship killer that is more than just a cosmetic smartphone.
If you are looking for the cheapest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 phone possible and something interesting to use, the OnePlus 11 is highly recommended.
