I bought realme GT Neo 3 150W and here’s my review.
High performance and low heat generation although it’s MediaTek-powered
The realme GT Neo 3 150W is a smartphone powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8100.
It boasts a CPU performance that partially exceeds that of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, and it showed us smooth movements in actual game play too.
It is capable of fast charging at a maximum of 150W (125W in 100V environment), and can charge from 10% to 100% in 17 minutes, with a maximum temperature of 35.5°C, keeping heat generation fairly low.
This review is done with the RMX3562_11_A.22, 8GB+256GB version.

The package Includes protective case, charger, USB Type-C to C cable, and instructions.
Unlike OPPO, which uses the old-fashioned USB Type-A port, realme uses a USB Type-C port.
Unfortunately, 100V is limited to 20V / 6.25A = 125W, so full power of 150W cannot be experienced at 100V environment.
Still, it is a little more than the 120W charge of other companies and is quite fast.
It can also be used as a USB PD/PPS charger, up to 20V / 2.25A = 45W.
Quick Charge 2.0/3.0 is also supported.
Is the era of “low quality OLED made in China” over?
The realme GT Neo 3 150W has a 6.7″ FHD+ resolution AMOLED display.
The flat surface makes it easy to apply protective film and does not make it difficult to see the edges due to reflections.
The panel is a diamond array.
One might think that a diamond array would be made by Samsung, but in fact, it is made by Tianma!
My own unit was made by Tianma, but I heard that a small number of BOE panels are also mixed in.
The color and viewing angle are perfect, and it is hard to distinguish them from Samsung panels.
In the past, AMOLED panels made in China were often of lower quality than those made by Samsung, but it seems that the gap is steadily narrowing due to technological innovation.
The average touch latency measured by the touch latency measurement app was 65.6 ms.
Unfortunately, it was Widevine L3.
In-screen fingerprint sensor position is closer to the bottom
The realme GT Neo 3 150W has an in-screen fingerprint sensor.
It is placed closer to the bottom, so it is a little difficult to press.
Authentication speed is fast.
Fingerprint-resistant back
The back of the realme GT Neo 3 150W is smooth and does not leave fingerprints.
It features a design with two lines, which is often seen on sports cars.
The frame is black and tight, and the two-tone color of black and white is cool.
The weight was 190.7g including film.
SONY IMX766 with OIS, but not very effectively used
The realme GT Neo 3 150W is equipped with a triple camera: 50MP (Sony IMX 766) + 8MP (ultra wide angle Sony IMX355) + 2MP (macro GalaxyCore gc02m1).
It supports OIS optical image stabilization.
The photos taken are saved here.
Although the saturation does not seem to have been adjusted excessively, the green color is particularly strong.
Even though they are the same SONY lenses, there is a big difference between the main lens at 50 MP and the ultra-wide angle lens at 8 MP, so the color tones may differ from normal in the ultra-wide angle mode.
It is best to consider the ultra wide-angle mode as an added bonus.
A shooting mode called “street mode” is also available.
The night view is not as bright as daylight, but it is a little brighter than the naked eye.
In fact, it was nearly pitch-dark with weak light, but both the stone statues and the lights were captured without being smashed.
Unfortunately, OIS only works in FHD and the correction does not seem to be that strong.
Above is FHD 60fps, below is 4K 60fps.
Equipped with stereo speakers
This type of stereo speaker is rare in realme, with dedicated top speaker.
The balance between left and right sides is relatively good, and the volume is sufficient.
While the treble is beautifully produced, the bass is a little weak, and the back of the speaker vibrates during bass playback.
125W fast charge with overwhelming speed
As the product name suggests, the realme GT Neo 3 150W supports fast charging at 150W.
However, it is difficult to experience 150W in 100V environment such as Japan at this time because the included charger can only output 125W at a 100V outlet.
Charging at 125W, it took only 17 minutes to charge from 10% to 100%.
The maximum temperature is 35.5°C, which considerably reduces heat generation.
After charging is finished, the temperature immediately cools down to the 20°C range.
The ULTRADART logo and animation will be displayed if the charger is compatible.
The maximum is 125W, but the actual start was 104W.
It was controlled to 73W at 40%, 60W at 80%, and 40W at 95%.
Wide range of supported bands
Supported bands are:
- CDMA:BC0
- 3G: WCDMA:B1/B2/B4/B5/B6/B8/B19
- 4G: LTETDD:B34/B38/B39/B40/B41(2515~2675MHz)
- 4G: LTE FDD:B1/B2/B3/B4/B5/B7/B8/B18/B19/B26/B28a
- 5G: NR_NSA n77/78/40/41(2496-2690MHz)/1/3/5/8
- 5G: NR_SA n78/40/41(2496-2690MHz)/1/3/5/8/28a
, and the wide range of compatible bands will help you when you travel.
The volume and power buttons are located on the left and right sides, with the volume buttons on the left side.
It is difficult to see because of the black frame and black buttons.
The power button is located on the right side.
CPU multi-core performance exceeds 8 Gen 1 and graphics performance exceeds 870
The MediaTek Dimensity 8100 is a SoC using the TSMC 5nm process and boasts CPU multi-core performance that exceeds even the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.
MediaTek, which had been under the impression of low performance, has grown to the point where it can compete with high-end Snapdragon in its new series.
In the 3DMark Wild Life Stress Test, the score was 5388, with a temperature increase from 23°C to 34°C (11°C increase) and 21 to 41 FPS.
Although the graphics performance is at the Snapdragon 870 level, the heat generation is low for the performance at 11°C, and the stability is excellent at 99%.
PCMark Work 3.0, which measures performance in everyday use such as document manipulation, scored 15738.
It exceeds the score of the top Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and even the Redmi K50 Pro with MediaTek Dimensity 9000.
This is likely due to the fact that the heat generation is reduced, allowing it to maintain higher performance than the Dimensity 9000.
In Geekbench 5, it is 960 single-core and 4054 multi-core.
In multi-core performance, it lightly exceeds the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.
Unfortunately, however, it seems that following Xiaomi, realme is also throttling judging by the package name.
With Geekbench disguised as Genshin or JD, the score drops to 878 single-core and 3569 multi-core, which is Snapdragon 870 level.
It would be foolish to make the benchmarks produce performance that cannot be achieved in the user’s actual usage environment.
There is a performance mode called GT mode, but enabling it did not change the score.
UFS 3.1 storage with fast sequential writes.
The game mode has a frame rate stabilization feature called Ultra-steady frames, so we enabled it and played in GT mode.
Running Genshin Impact at the highest quality and 60 FPS setting and measuring with WeTest PerfDog, the average FPS was 54.6 FPS.
The “junk” that seems to stop for a moment is as low as 15.5.
The Redmi K50 Pro with MediaTek Dimensity 9000 averaged 55.2 FPS and 17.4 junk, so the Dimensity 8100 is rather smoother.
Battery temperature did not feel too hot, with a maximum rise to about 37°C.
Unlike the Dimensity 9000, which rose to a maximum of 44.2°C, the Dimensity 8100 seems to have no problem playing for long periods of time.
The realme GT Neo 3 150W supports MEMC frame interpolation, but unfortunately it was only available with the Chinese version of the Genshin Impact.
In World of Tanks Blitz (Wot), after turning on the “Disable authorization monitoring” option in the developer options, and running these commands in adb shell
settings put system peak_refresh_rate 1
settings put system min_refresh_rate 1
will unlock 120FPS options.
With all image quality options set to maximum, the average was 86.1 FPS.
For reference, the OPPO Find X3 with Snapdragon 870 averaged 112.5 FPS under the same conditions.
This is a very large difference.
The MediaTek Dimensity 8100 is no less powerful than the Snapdragon 870 in terms of raw performance, but it seems that graphics optimization is still an issue in games.
Bootloader Unlockable!
It is quite rare for realme to be able to Bootloader Unlock, even though it has not been on the market for 3 months.
realme真我社区
You can apply for Bootloader Unlock by installing this APK and proceeding.
There seems to be some warning on the way, but I can’t read it because it is blank.
The fastboot mode will be released by pressing “Start deep testing” on the application status screen as soon as the application is approved.
The fastboot mode is indicated by a small message such as “fastboot_unlock_verify ok”.
Bootloader Unlocking is not done at this point, so if you want to unlock, please execute fastboot flashing unlock
.
If you unlock bootloader maybe we can flash the global version, so I’m looking forward to the global version.

The realme GT Neo 3 150W combines high performance and heat dissipation, and is so smooth that it exceeds the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 when played for long periods of time.
Thanks to 125W fast charging, even if the battery runs out, you can complete charging within 20 minutes. Even if you forget to charge the battery, it will not be a problem.
The limited performance and the lack of optimization for MediaTek on the gaming side are disappointing, but if they improve with future updates, this will be a very high-cost smartphone that can continue to maintain higher performance than a $1000 class Snapdragon smartphone even though realme GT Neo 3 150W is a $460 smartphone.
The realme GT Neo3 80W, which supports 80W fast charging, is available in its lowest configuration for 2299CNY (approx. $360) and the realme GT Neo3 150W, which supports 150W fast charging, for 2899CNY (approx. $455).
