I purchased OPPO’s first high-end tablet, OPPO Pad.
Distinctive back design
OPPO Pad is an Android tablet with Snapdragon 870 and UFS 3.1 storage.
In addition to a SoC with relatively high-end performance, the device has a 27413 mm² heat dissipation plate to reduce performance degradation due to heat generation.
It has a unique design with O and P studded on the back.
This review is done with the OPD2101_11_A.08, 6GB+128GB version.

Index
Included are a USB Type-A to C cable, charger, instructions, and warranty card.
11″ display with WQXGA resolution
OPPO Pad has an 11-inch LTPS LCD display with a resolution of 2560 × 1600 (WQXGA) at 275 PPI.
The touch sampling rate is 120 Hz and the refresh rate is 120 Hz.
The display is beautiful enough, although less vivid than other companies’ tablets with OLED displays.
Viewing angles are also good.
In the settings, you can turn on the nature tone display, which changes the color temperature to match the surrounding environment, and eye comfort, which can cut blue light.
You can also change the color temperature to cooler or warmer by yourself.
Unfortunately, it is Widevine L3, so streaming in HD quality is not possible.
Fingerprint-free back
The back of the OPPO Pad is decorated with an O and P on the top side, and is treated to look rough and fingerprint-free.
It may look bluish depending on the reflection of light.
The weight was 514.1g including film.
It has a 13MP camera and sticks out minimally, so there is little rattling when placed on a desk.
At 6.99mm thick, it is quite thick, well above the 5mm range of other tablets Galaxy Tab S8+ and Lenovo XiaoXin Pad Pro 2021, so it would be great if it was flat.
The camera is only useful for notes, as it has trouble focusing and can be strangely white.
No fingerprint unlocking, only face ID
The power button on the OPPO Pad is located on the left side, away from the volume buttons.
The OPPO Pad does not have a fingerprint sensor; it is a regular power button.
Face recognition is available.
Dolby Atmos-enabled quad speakers
There are speakers on the left and right sides.
There is also a USB Type-C port on the right side, which can charge an 8360mAh battery at 33W fast charge.
While the bass and treble were relatively well balanced, the treble tended to be slightly buried.
The frequency response measured with the miniDSP UMIK-1 from a distance of about 30 cm, surrounded by sound-absorbing mats, is shown below.
Dolby Atmos cannot be turned off on the speakers.
Performance capable of playing Genshin at an average of 53 fps
The OPPO Pad is able to achieve relatively high performance among Snapdragon 870-based devices, with a single-core of 999 and a multi-core of 3040 in Geekbench 5.
In the 3DMark Wild Life Stress Test, the score was 4189, with a temperature increase from 22°C to 29°C (7°C increase) and 16 to 31 FPS.
Thanks to the 27413 mm² heat dissipation plate, the temperature rise is considerably reduced.
PCMark Work 3.0 had a score of 12960.
Storage is UFS 3.1 and is fast there.
Memory is LPDDR4X, which is slower than LPDDR5.
When measured by WeTest PerfDog with Genshin Impact running at the highest quality and 60FPS setting with Ultra-steady frames enabled in game mode, the average was 53.2FPS.
We were concerned about a little more “junk” (17.9), which makes the screen appear to stop for a moment, but this is a good result for a Snapdragon 870-equipped model.
The battery temperature only rose to a maximum of about 30°C, making it comfortable to play.
Conclusion
- 11″ 2K, 120Hz refresh rate support
- Powered by Snapdragon 870
- Quad speaker
- 8360mAh battery
- Stylus pen support
- Fingerprint-resistant back
- HD quality streaming not possible with Widevine L3
- No fingerprint sensor
- LCD display
- MicroSD card not supported
- GPS not supported
As the first high-end tablet, it has sufficient specs and it is easy to use.
However, compared to other tablets, there are quite a few areas where it is inferior to the Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro in the same price range despite being a latecomer, and cost cutting is noticeable, such as the lack of GPS support and fingerprint recognition sensor.
It is good for those who rarely carry it outdoors for use.
The OPPO Pad is available for 2299 CNY.
